Through the fall and winter of 2011-2012, Trinity Presbyterian Church will offer four concerts. There is no admission price to any concert, however please note that we will take up an offering at the September 18 concert. 100% of the money collected will go to support the North Greenville Food Crisis Ministry, Claudia Burns Director.

The performers will include guests, Trinity music staff, Trinity members, or instrumentalists who play regularly for our church services. We wish to thank all of our sponsors, who made these events possible.

Sunday September 18, 2011, 4 PM:

Lisa Barksdale soprano, Lucie Svatonova, mezzo-soprano

Trinity Presbyterian Church in Travelers Rest is hosting a Duet Recital performed by Lisa Barksdale, soprano and Lucie Svatonova, mezzo-soprano. Both women are collegiate voice teachers: Barksdale at Furman University, Svatonova at Prebyterian College and Erskine College; both women have been soloists with the Greenville Chorale and often sing together at Trinity. They will be accompanied by Don Shabkie, piano. The varied program will include selections by Antonin Dvorak and Fanny Mendelssohn Hensel.

Sunday October 23, 2011, 4 PM:

Trinity Presbyterian Chamber Ensemble

Trinity is blessed to have a group of regular instrumentalists who play frequently at church services throughout the year. For this event, we would like to share their talents with the community. Included on the program will be: Alexander Borodin's String Quartet No.2, and J.S Bach's Brandenburg Concerto No. 5.

Friday December 30, 2011, 7:30 PM:

Gregory Tompkins, violin

Violin virtuoso, and recent Eastman School of Music graduate Gregory Tompkins will present a concert on Friday night, December 30. He will be accompanied by Don Shabkie.

Sunday February 26, 2011, 4 PM:

Don Shabkie, piano

Trinity's Music Director, Don Shabkie, will present a solo piano concert.

We wish to thank all those who came to our first two events (see below), not only for their interest in the arts in this area, but also for their generosity. We had very good attendance for both concerts, and we were able to raise $1500 for the Triune Mercy Center.

Trinity Presbyterian Church is at 405 Wilhelm Winter Street in Travelers Rest. For more information or directions, you can conctact the church at (864)834.9897. Motorists, bicyclists and walkers are welcome Not far from the Swamp Rabbit Trail, you can reach Trinity Presbyterian by bicycle or foot from two different trail exits. If you travel by bicycle, we invite you to keep your vehicle in our locked choir room for the duration of each event.

Directions from Swamp Rabbit Trail: From Greenville, take trail past Furman. Cross Roe Ford Road exit, and go two more exits to Edwards Rd. crossing, easily identified by visible railroad tracks nearby, as well as Hwy 276 to your right. Turn left here, and take an immediate right on to Old Buncombe Rd. The next left is Wilhelm Winter Street. Take this left and travel about a half mile, where you will see Trinity Presbyterian Church on the left. From Travelers Rest or Marietta, turn right at same intersection.
